As part of his tour in support for his debut album Yesterday’s Gone, the hip-hop artist Loyle Carner will be performing in Brussels on Friday the 24th at VK concerts.
The London rapper delivers an impressive first effort. His sound is reminiscent of old school hip-hop, a little more laid back than other grime artists. With his deep voice he delves into themes of loss, love, family, music….
Taken from his debut album Yesterday’s Gone, the track “The Isle of Arran” which came out last October serves as the first single.
While the video shows Carner rushing to the hospital to meet his newborn daughter, the song still expresses the grief of losing his own step-father, who died not so long ago. It is a beautiful ode to the fathers who, contrary to his biological dad, are present to help raise their children and never give up the fight to give them a better future.
